Exodus 35 & 36

Kip Cone

God built a dwelling place: The Tabernacle. (Exodus 29-31, 35-39)

  • • Through the willing generosity of His people.

(35:4-9, 20-29; 36:3b-7)

  • • Through gifted, Spirit-filled people who could teach others. (35:10, 25-27, 30-35; 36:1-3a, 8a)

God is building a dwelling place: The Church. (1 Cor. 3:16; Ephesians 2:19-22; 1 Peter 2:4-5)

  • • Through the cheerful giving of His people. (2 Cor. 9:6-8)
  • • Through gifted, Spirit-filled people who equip others. (Ephesians 4:11-16)

Everyone has a part to play in Christ’s Grand Design.

Questions for Discussion

1. What was the purpose of the Tabernacle? What did is symbolize?

2. What motivated the Israelites to respond with such generosity?

3. What were Bezalel’s TWO areas of gifting and ability (read 35:30-34). What was so important about the second ability?

4. How has God gifted you to participate in the building of Christ’s “Grand Design,” the Church? How can you pass it on to others, whom God might want to use in the same way?
