Here are some ways WL individuals, families, Life Groups or an ABF can help showcase God’s love to our community. The global mission of the church begins with our neighbors and friends.

REACHING OUR WORLD LOCALLY – helping to showcase God’s love in our Kosciusko County

WL Local Partnerships

Community Ministry Description – Volunteer Opportunities

All Things New

All Things New offers a program dedicated to whole-life change for individuals struggling with addiction. The program consists of three phases, addressing spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, and relational issues. At each stage, residents will receive individual and group counseling from a licensed mental health professional.

Volunteers to help with: Tutoring and GRW prep; Life skills instruction (parenting, money management, time management, etc.); Job skills instruction (resume building, interviewing guidance, computer skills, etc.); Hobby development (gardening, scrapbooking, sewing, photography, etc.)

Combined Community Services

CCS provides comfort, hope, and resources for neighbors in need, offering programs that educate, support, and equip clients with life skills and self-sufficiency programs. Also offering emergency assistance with food, clothing, transportation and legal assistance.

English as a New Language

ENL is a WL ministry to help our Kosciusko County neighbors learn the English language. Classes are held September thru May on Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m. - 7:45.p.m. at the Warsaw YMCA... AND on Thursdays, 10:00 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. at WL.

Fairlane Ministry

God has opened many doors for us to share His love with the families who live at Fairlane. Picking up kids for SPLASH with the Grace College bus on Wednesday evenings, Thursday afternoon snacks and Bible stories at the Fairlane Community Center, moms’ tea party, helping kids with their e-learning for school, Thanksgiving feast, and an Easter egg hunt are just some of the ways we are actively sharing God’s love with the families of Fairlane.

Fellowship Missions

Fellowship Missions is our county’s homeless shelter. FM focuses on the transformation that comes through sharing the love and hope of Jesus Christ. FM programs are not permanent. Residents are required to participate in programs aimed to teach, help and transform. The goal is not merely to provide food and shelter, but to get residents plugged into the community and become self-sustaining members who make meaningful contributions.

Jefferson Elementary School

Jefferson Elementary School is our local ministry partner of the week. It’s not an accident that our church building is located across the street from our neighborhood school and our goal is to serve and support them in strategic ways. As we head into a new year we have several goals in our support: to strengthen our 2nd Wind program (teacher and staff adoptions), partner with a potentially new parenting class, and expand our Discipleship Counseling ministry to make it available to Jefferson families. We also want to be motivated and ready to respond to tangible needs that arise during the year. Please pray for the many teachers, leadership and support staff that are believers (many from WL) that they would serve with full hearts and open eyes as they head into a new year. Pray for the approximately 500 kids that attend Jefferson every day.

Kosciusko County Jail Ministry

WL’s Peggy Owens serves as assistant chaplain, leading women’s Bible studies, helping with music for worship services, and simply talking with inmates. The Jail Ministry is not only for those who are incarcerated in the county jail but also includes those who have spent time at Kosciusko County Work Release. Peggy also helps with a weekly Friday night Bible study for those who are in the County Work Release program—as well as previously incarcerated men and women who now have found success in life after leaving jail.
