Every follower of Jesus is on a journey of growing in generosity.
The starting point of the journey is the issue of ownership. Either it is mine and I owe God a tax OR it all belongs to God and I am trusted to manage what is ultimately His. The former leaves me focused on how much I have and engenders selfishness and worry. The latter enables me to focus on the purpose of money and possessions and leads to the joy found in generosity.
Jesus taught what we do with our money not only indicates where our heart is but what we do with our money also determines where our heart goes (Matthew 6:19-21).
Generosity is an act of worship. We believe the Bible directs the first tithe (10%) to be given to your faith community/church. Then, wise stewardship leads to generosity to other ministries making an impact for God.
There is a blessing in growing generosity. The generosity ladder may help you identify the next step on your journey.
Generosity and stewardship education is offered periodically in small groups, classes, and elective courses. Training is provided to children, students, and adults. Watch for dates and locations.
